Chief Editor of Readovka Appears in Advertisement Dressed as Stalin
Alexey Kostylov, the chief editor of the Russian publication Readovka, recently starred in an advertisement for his own clothing brand dressed as the Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. In the video, Kostylov is seen wearing a white coat and holding a pipe, walking in front of destroyed buildings in eastern Ukraine. The memorial at the fraternal cemetery in the occupied city of Severodonetsk and a building of the OSCE office destroyed by shelling can be seen in the background.
Controversial Ad Sparks Outrage
The ad features a background song with lyrics that translate to: «Everything has changed, everyone is missing people like Stalin, And in vain, in every house and entrance, everyone dreams of revenge and retribution.» The white coat featured in the ad is priced at 150,000 rubles, which is approximately 1,500 euros. The advertisement has sparked outrage and controversy online.
