Ukrainian Air Defense Forces Successfully Repel Attack

«To repel the aerial attack, units of anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile firing groups of the air force and defense forces of Ukraine, as well as electronic warfare means, were involved. As a result of the combat activity, 40 enemy drones were destroyed within the Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions,» the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

No Casualties Reported in Kyiv

According to the Ministry of Defense, the drones approached Kyiv from the western direction, but air defense forces destroyed all UAVs before they reached the capital. Preliminary data show that there were no casualties or damage in Kyiv.

Concerns About Ammunition Shortages in Ukraine

As warned by the ISW, disruptions in Western defense assistance may lead to shortages of ammunition for air defense systems in Ukraine as early as March. The effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense systems has already decreased, with the percentage of destroyed «Shaheds» dropping by 33% in the past 10 weeks.
