President Zelensky Awards «City-Hero» Titles
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded honorary titles «City-Hero» to the mayor of Irpin Oleksandr Markushev and the head of the Hostomel settlement military administration Serhiy Smaliy. The ceremony took place near the Memorial in honor of the defenders of the Bucha community, located between Bucha and Vorzel.
The title «City-Hero of Ukraine» was established by Volodymyr Zelensky’s decree in 2022. Among the city-heroes are also Bucha, Nikopol, Akhtyrka, Volnovakha, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv.
