The Verkhovna Rada Supports Amendments to Law on Mobilization

The Press Service of the Verkhovna Rada apparatus reported that the initiative to amend the Law «On Mobilization Training and Mobilization» (bill No. 11379) was supported at the meeting of the Committee on Youth and Sports. These changes provide for a deferral of military conscription for conscripts until they reach the age of 25 if they were found unfit for military service in peacetime and limited fit for wartime before the law on mobilization came into force on April 11.

Deputies acknowledged that current legislative conflicts create situations where sick men under 25 are mobilized, which can cause public outrage and not contribute to the increase in the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Committee recommended that the bill be adopted as the basis and forwarded the relevant conclusion to the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence of the Council for further consideration.
