57-year-old Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman recently reflected on her experience filming the movie «Eyes Wide Shut». During the filming of this project, she was married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. Kidman shared that the director, Stanley Kubrick, drew inspiration from their personal lives for the film.
Longest Continuous Shoot
The film, which premiered in 1999 and became a box office hit grossing $162 million, was shot over a period of 400 days from 1996 to 1998. This set a record for the longest continuous shoot at the time. Reminiscing about the filming process, Kidman mentioned Kubrick’s dedication to the story and characters.
Sharing a Trailer
Due to budget constraints and Kubrick’s perfectionism, Kidman and Cruise shared a trailer on set, despite having a house nearby. Kidman recalled, «Stanley said we couldn’t each have our own trailer, it was too costly for our budget.» This experience added a unique aspect to their time working on the project together.
