The Supreme Court of Ukraine Upholds Life Imprisonment for Brutal Murder
The Supreme Court of Ukraine has upheld the verdict of life imprisonment for a resident of the Poltava region who committed a brutal murder of his stepfather and mother. This was reported by the press service of the Poltava Prosecutor’s Office.
The man was convicted of the intentional murder of two individuals, committed with particular cruelty under Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Prosecutors have proven his guilt in three court instances.
According to the investigation, in November 2021, while intoxicated, the convicted man had a quarrel with his stepfather. During the conflict, he beat the man and strangled him, which led to the victim’s death.
The mother tried to stop the conflict, but her son brutally beat her, poured gasoline on her, and set her on fire. This resulted in her death.
The court decisions remained unchanged, and the man was sentenced to life imprisonment.
