Intensive shelling at Chasiv Yar: Ukrainian forces repel attack, Russian casualties

Today, the operational-strategic troop grouping «Khortytsia» reported 257 mortar and artillery shelling incidents in the past day alone.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have struck the headquarters of the Russian Armed Forces, resulting in possible injuries to Russian General Teplynsky. Occupiers have launched an attack on Chasiv Yar under artillery cover.

«The enemy’s tactics involve delivering their infantry to the forest area, where they disperse and attempt to attack the positions of our defenders. They actively use artillery shelling, kamikaze drones, and lancets to cover their actions,» said the AFU.

Over the past day, Chasiv Yar has witnessed 51 enemy assaults, nine of which were particularly intense.

Strategic Importance of Chasiv Yar

Ivan Petrychak, a representative of the King Danylo Separate Mechanized Brigade and participant in the «One News» marathon, emphasized that the intensity of shelling remains high, and Russian forces continue to attack.

Earlier, analysts from the DeepState project reported the occupation of the «Kanal» microdistrict in Chasiv Yar. The AFU decided to withdraw from this area, which is considered a logical step as further holding it would only increase losses.

The loss of Chasiv Yar is dangerous as it could give enemy forces access to other Ukrainian cities. Analysts highlight the strategic importance of Chasiv Yar for Russia, as it serves as a gateway to the Kramatorsk-Slovyansk agglomeration.
