The Ukrainian Market for New Passenger Cars
The market for new passenger cars in Ukraine has seen a significant increase, with sales up by 51% compared to February 2023. Despite challenges, sales are only 11% behind the pre-war February 2021 indicator.
Among the top-selling brands, Toyota leads the pack with 858 cars sold, marking a 70% increase from last year. Renault follows with 706 units (+64%), Volkswagen with 472 units (+53%), Skoda with 452 units (+38%), and Peugeot with 348 units (+364%).
Reports show that the Renault Duster crossover remains the best-selling car in February, with 603 registrations. Since the beginning of the year, over 10,000 new passenger cars have been added to the domestic fleet, a 50% increase from the same period in 2023.
In 2023, almost 61,000 new passenger cars were sold in Ukraine, totaling over 105.5 billion UAH. Additionally, January saw over 3,500 battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs) added to the fleet, as demand for electric cars increased by 2.8 times compared to last year.
