Deputies and Officials in Ukraine Declare Millions in Cryptocurrency Assets

According to information from the OpenDataBot platform, it has been revealed that many deputies and officials in the Odessa region are including cryptocurrency in their asset and income declarations, with some values exceeding tens of millions of hryvnias.

One example is Odessa Regional Council deputy Nikita Kuzkevich, who declared ownership of 121 bitcoins valued at 195 million hryvnias.

In 2021, the director of the municipal enterprise «Heating Supply of the city of Odessa», Anna Pozdnyakova, declared possession of 53 million hryvnias in bitcoins. The secretary of the Kyiv District Court of Odessa, Yekaterina Grenaderova, owns over 60,000 crypto dollars.

Among Ukrainian officials, the highest amount of cryptocurrency is held by the deputy chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Sergey Karpenko, with 41 million hryvnias. Podolsk District Council deputy Igor Osipov declared ownership of 1,800 «ethereums» valued at 160 million hryvnias.

OpenDataBot specialists have reported that in 2022, Ukrainian officials and deputies have published a total of 1428 declarations containing cryptocurrency assets, which is double the number from 2021. Popular choices include Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Ripple.
