US State Department to Maintain Interaction with France After Elections

Deputy spokesperson for the US State Department, Vedant Patel, stated on Monday, July 1, that Washington does not plan to decrease its interaction with France after the parliamentary elections in the country.

«We intend to continue our close cooperation with the government of France across the full spectrum of foreign policy priorities,» said Patel, as quoted by «Ukrinform.»

The State Department representative also noted that he is currently refraining from commenting on the election process in France, but emphasized that France remains an important partner for the US.

«This is our oldest ally, with whom we have a long and illustrious history of democratic values,» added the official.
