Events in Finland
Events in Finland took a new turn when it was revealed that on June 10, not one, but four Russian military aircraft may have entered their airspace.
Violation of Airspace
The Ministry of Defense of Finland stated that they had initially reported one aircraft that violated the country’s airspace over the Gulf of Finland for two minutes. However, further investigation showed that the number of violators could be higher.
«We have grounds to suspect three more aircraft of territorial infringement,» the Finnish Border Guard reported.
Types of Aircraft
Among these aircraft that penetrated Finland’s airspace were two bombers and two fighters. Their activity was recorded 2.5 km from the town of Loviisa.
«We react to such events if they are serious and ongoing, and investigations are ongoing,» said the head of Finland’s defense, Janne Jaakkola.
