Republican lawmakers push bill to send lawbreakers on college campuses to Gaza Strip

Republican lawmakers have introduced a bill in the House of Representatives that would send individuals who have broken the law on college campuses to the Gaza Strip.

This information was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Fox News.

The bill, presented on Wednesday, May 8, by Republican Congressman Andy Biggles from Tennessee, along with Congressmen Randy Weber and Jeff Duncan, is in response to anti-Israeli demonstrations taking place in college towns across the country.

Under the proposal, offenders would be required to serve a minimum of six months of community service in the Gaza Strip, where Israel is conducting military operations to eliminate HAMAS and rescue Israelis captured by terrorists in October.

Andy Biggles, the author of the bill, noted that students participating in anti-Israel actions disrupted the learning process and violated university events. He expressed the belief that such actions needed to be stopped.

«I have proposed a bill according to which anyone convicted of unlawful activity on the premises of an American university campus since October 7, 2023, will be sent to Gaza to perform a minimum of six months of community service,» emphasized Biggles.

Congressman Weber added, «If you support a terrorist organization and engage in illegal activities on campus, you must be held accountable for your actions. I am confident that HAMAS supporters will not go unpunished.»

However, the bill is expected to have uncertain chances of success in the House of Representatives, where Republicans hold only one seat. And even if it is passed, the Senate, controlled by Democrats, is almost certain to ignore it.
