Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia emphasizes importance of reforms for Ukraine

During a meeting with journalists in Kyiv, Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia James O’Brien stated that the future assistance to Ukraine from partner countries will be contingent upon the successful implementation and functioning of reforms. O’Brien highlighted that reform implementation is crucial for Ukraine’s support from Europe, the United States, and all G7 members.

O’Brien stressed that in order to receive further assistance, Ukraine must show progress in various areas of reforms, including the strengthening of independent investigative bodies and institutions, resolution of disputes, and improvement in the functioning of tax and customs services.
