Successful elimination of enemy reconnaissance drone
This morning, our military successfully destroyed an enemy reconnaissance drone of the «ZALA» brand over the Odessa region. This was reported by the Southern Air Command.
The incident occurred early in the morning when the drone attempted to penetrate Ukrainian airspace. It is known that this UAV was part of Russian technology used for reconnaissance and possible missile guidance.
Military expert Viktor Bosnyak explained that the destroyed drone could have been a model from the «ZALA» family, manufactured by the Izhevsk company «ZALA AERO GROUP.» These drones include various models — from reconnaissance to strike, and have different designs.
The specifically destroyed drone is likely a Zala 421-20 model — a long-range reconnaissance UAV. It is equipped with laser targeting systems and can conduct detailed reconnaissance even in complex weather conditions. Previously, the Russian side claimed that this drone was «invulnerable» to Ukrainian EW means, but our forces have proven otherwise.
Additionally, yesterday in the Kherson region, air defense units destroyed two «Lancet» strike UAVs, another type of drone from «ZALA» designed for strikes.
The price of one such UAV ranges from 18 to 27 thousand US dollars, making it a costly resource for the aggressor, but our defenders continue to effectively combat these threats.
Therefore, the destruction of enemy drones is an important part of defensive measures and demonstrates the high level of readiness and effectiveness of our air forces.
