Odessa Mayor Proposes Significant Increases in Salaries and Bonuses

Odessa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov is planning to boost his salary and bonuses, a topic that will be discussed at the upcoming session of the Odessa City Council.

Trukhanov is seeking a 50% salary increase and a monthly bonus of 120% of his salary. The proposed changes are said to be justified by his accomplishments, completed tasks, and years of service.

Additionally, bonuses of up to 150% of their salaries are being recommended for deputies Oleksandr Filatov, Svitlana Bedryha, Pavlo Vuhelman, Valeriy Silin, and city council secretary Ihor Koval.

If approved, these new rates will be effective from May 1, 2024, until the end of the VIII convocation of the Odessa City Council. According to the explanatory note, these adjustments will not pose any financial risks.

In 2023, Trukhanov received a salary of 293 thousand hryvnias, placing him at the bottom of the list of regional center leaders’ salaries in Ukraine. For comparison, the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, topped the list with an income of 1.7 million hryvnias.
