Efforts to Combat Ecosystem Pollution After Enemy Strike on Oil Depot in Kharkiv

Experts are working tirelessly to prevent further pollution of the ecosystem following an enemy attack on an oil depot in the Nemyshlyansky district of Kharkiv. The Office of the Prosecutor General confirmed the incident.

Details of the Attack

According to reports, on February 9, around 10:50 pm, an aggressor state launched an attack using three drones on Kharkiv. The strike caused a leak and ignition of fuel at the oil depot in the Nemyshlyansky district, resulting in the tragic loss of 7 lives, including three children. The environmental impact of the attack is significant.

Environmental Damage

The drone strike damaged equipment and storage tanks for oil products at the depot. Approximately 3.8 thousand tons of gasoline and diesel fuel were present in the tanks at the time of the attack. The leaked oil products entered the Nemyshlya River, affecting the Kharkiv, Lopan, and Udy rivers.
