Residents of Ukraine Warned of Possible Increase in Utility Tariffs

According to the «Hvylia» portal, residents of Ukraine may face an increase in tariffs for utilities in June. Such forecasts are provided by officials and experts.

In particular, the head of the State Energy Supervision Ruslan Slobodyan indicated that a possible revision of the electricity tariff could be one of the measures to attract additional funds for the restoration of the energy system.

«The speed of restoring generating capacities and preparing for the next heating season directly depends on the availability of funding. The more we can do, the fewer disruptions to expect during the next winter,» he explained.

At the same time, experts predict that the tariff may increase from half to double its current size. Household consumers may pay from 3.50 to 5 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour.

As for gas, the tariff for its supply remains unchanged in June. For most households served by «Naftogaz Ukraine», the cost of a cubic meter of gas remains at 7.96 hryvnias. This tariff is valid until April 30, 2025.

Payment for centralized water supply and sewage for household consumers also remains unchanged. However, experts do not rule out that due to an increase in water tariffs for organizations from June 1, 2024, prices may change for household consumers by the end of the year.
