Tragic Road Accident in the Village of Ruske

A fatal road accident took place in the village of Ruske in the Mukachevo district, causing the death of a 6-year-old girl and injuring a 27-year-old woman and her 1-year-old baby. The driver of the vehicle involved, a 37-year-old local resident, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the accident, with a blood alcohol level of 2.34 per mil.

Law enforcement officers, including the investigative-operational group of the local police department and forensic experts from the regional police headquarters, arrived at the scene promptly. The driver was arrested under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility, while the vehicle was seized by the police.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which deals with violations of road traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by persons driving under the influence. The driver could face imprisonment for up to 10 years and a ban on driving for five to ten years.
