The Odessa City Council’s Initiative for Environmentally Friendly Transportation

The Odessa City Council is actively working on using low-floor high-capacity buses, which were donated to the city by the twin city Regensburg as humanitarian aid.

Improving Environmental Situation

Deputy Mayor Pavel Vugelman believes that these buses can significantly improve the environmental situation in the city, as their emissions are much lower than those of regular yellow minibusses.

Concerns About Emissions

A test conducted at an independent technical control station showed that the «Bogdan» buses have significantly higher emissions of harmful substances compared to Mercedes buses, almost one and a half times more.

Need for Change in Legislation

«Right now, we transport people on minibusses which belong to the Euro-1 emissions category,» noted Deputy Mayor Vugelman. «Therefore, the mayor of Odessa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, has requested changes to the legislative acts regulating the import of humanitarian aid to Ukraine and its use during a state of war.»
