Woman from Cherkasy Faces Charges for Fraudulently Obtaining Social Assistance
A resident of Cherkasy is facing charges for fraudulently obtaining nearly 450 thousand hryvnias of social assistance. When applying for assistance, she concealed her family status by not declaring that she was not a single mother.
According to the investigation, the 49-year-old woman from October 2018 to December 2022 regularly contacted the Department of Social Policy of the Cherkasy City Council, filed applications for social assistance, and provided false information in income and asset declarations.
She concealed her actual status by stating that she did not live with the father of her four children, even though they actually lived together in a civil marriage. This allowed her to receive social assistance and misappropriate budget funds.
The perpetrator illegally obtained almost 450 thousand hryvnias from the state budget.
