Experts Emphasize Delay in Formation of New Ukrainian Army Brigades
Experts from the American Institute for Strategic Studies noted that the formation of new brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being delayed due to problems with the supply of military equipment from Western partners.
Limited Capabilities
According to analysts, delayed and insufficient supply volumes limit the capabilities of Ukrainian military to adequately equip the newly formed brigades. They emphasized the critical importance of timely security assistance, which will determine the success of defense operations and the ability to conduct counter-offensive operations in the future.
Urgent Need for Heavy Equipment
In particular, the institute reminded about the statements of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, regarding the urgent need for heavy equipment for the new brigades, which includes combat armored vehicles, tanks, and artillery. The commander of one of the brigades in the Chasove Yar area emphasized that currently there is a lack of ammunition, not fighters.
Delays in Military Equipment Supply
In their report, experts also highlighted the president’s concerns about delays in the supply of military equipment to the front lines. He confirmed his previous statements that slow receipt of security assistance hinders the proper equipping of reserve brigades for defense operations.
Challenges Ahead
«Ukrainian media in recent months have regularly emphasized the lack of sufficient material resources to equip all the new brigades currently being formed. Reports indicate that without additional Western assistance, Ukraine will not be able to fully equip its future brigades, creating additional challenges for the country’s mobilization efforts,» analysts summarized.
