President Zelensky conducts briefing in Kharkiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conducted a Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Briefing in Kharkiv on May 16.

As of today, the situation in Kharkiv region is generally under control, he reported on social media.

«Today, I listened to a detailed report from the Chief of Staff Alexander Syrsky, commanders of the OOS «Khortytsia» Yuriy Sodol and OTO «Kharkiv» Mykhailo Drapaty. The operational situation, tasks, and needs of each deployed brigade, each unit, especially in Kharkiv region, in the areas of Volchansk and Lypovets, were discussed. We also thoroughly analyzed the prospects of the combat situation, threats in the coming days and weeks, as well as our Ukrainian capabilities to counter Russian offensive plans,» emphasized the president.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are inflicting significant losses on the occupier, but the situation remains extremely challenging.

«We are strengthening our units. The heads of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Foreign Intelligence Service reported on the occupier’s intentions, the head of the Security Service — on counter-sabotage measures. We have defined a plan of further actions for the regional authorities of the Kharkiv region, as well as for all structures responsible for security in the region. I also listened to reports from regional authorities in other border and front-line regions: the current situation, main risks, key needs. Gave appropriate instructions,» Zelensky added.
