On Thursday, May 9, a solemn raising of the flag of the European Union took place in the Market Square in front of the City Hall. This celebration was part of the Europe Day festivities held today in all countries of the European continent, as reported by the press service of the Lviv City Council.
In Ukraine, Europe Day is officially recognized and celebrated in accordance with the decree signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky on May 9 of last year. In Lviv, this day has been included in the calendar of celebrations along with European partners. This year, the EU flag in Lviv was symbolically raised by the mayor of the Croatian city of Pula-Pola, Filip Zoricic, who visited the city for this solemn event.
