Odessa celebrates the 80th anniversary of liberation from German-Romanian invaders.
According to «Dumska» correspondents, the festive events with laying of flowers are taking place at the 10th of April Square and the Alley of Glory.
The area near the Monument to the Unknown Sailor is patrolled by police officers. Law enforcement officers carefully check the documents of everyone who wishes to lay flowers, and also ask to demonstrate the contents of bags and backpacks. To avoid gathering of people, they enter one by one.
As of today, there are only three veterans left in Odessa who participated in the defense and liberation of the city during the Second World War, and only one of them was directly involved in the liberation.
