This is intended to give the US Congress more time to reconcile 12 budget bills and pass them.

The law extends the funding of some government programs until March 8, and the rest until March 22.

Legislators have agreed on the most urgent funding bills, which will be voted on next week.

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson has stated that the bill for additional funding for Ukraine will be considered once the issue of federal government funding is resolved.

On February 13, the US Senate supported a package providing over $60 billion for Ukraine — primarily for military assistance.

However, the Senate’s decision is not sufficient to allocate the funds — the bill must pass the House of Representatives.
